The Budapest Liszt Ferenc Airport (BUD/LHBP) is the biggest Airport in Hungary and located 15km south-east of the downtown. The airport was opened in 1950 and named after the hungarian composer Liszt Ferenc in 2011. In 2016 11.441.999 Passangers visited BUD.
Kecskemet Airport is a military air base of the Hungarian Air Force. LHKE is home of the “Puma” tactical and “Teve” transport squadrons. The “Puma” squadron use the JAS-39 Gripen multirole fighters, and the “Teve” squadron in turn use the AN-26 transport aircrafts. LHKE organizes every 2-3 years the International Airshow and Military Display. One of the biggest Airshow in Europe and Middle-Europe.
