Jandakot Airport (IATA: JAD, ICAO: YPJT) is an Australian general aviation airport located near Perth International in Western Australia. It’s the major general aviation airport in WA and one of the busiest airfields and largest aviation training bases in Australia. Below you will find the three major spots that local spotters used otherwise you can easily drive around the airport and find places throw the fences where you can take pictures and leave.
Perth Airport (IATA: PER, ICAO: YPPH) is a domestic and international airport. It is also the capital, the largest city, the biggest airport of Western Australia and the fourth busiest airport in Australia. Perth deserve some major international cities as Johannesburg, Auckland, Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Guangzhou, Singapore, Bangkok, Kuala Lampur, Denpasar, Jakarta and Hong Kong. Perth is mostly interesting for it’s mines flights which are at least more than 50% of the traffics.
Sydney Kingsford-Smith is the busiest airport in Australia (handling 36 million passengers in 2010) and the primary hub of Qantas. Located next to Botany Bay it has three runways colloquially known as “east-west”, “north-south” and “third”, though with the addition of the “third” runway the “east-west” runway which crosses the “north-south” is rarely used. The airport is also an important hub for Virgin Australia and Jetstar which both operate out of one of the two domestic terminals (the other is used exclusively by Qantas and its link operations). This review only covers spotting points visible from through security. Spotting and photography can be undertaken from within the terminals with care however I don’t doubt there are better options elsewhere of you have the chance to find them.
