Cumbernauld Airport (ICAO: EGPG, FAA LID: CBN) is located 16 NM (30 km; 18 mi) northeast of Glasgow at Cumbernauld in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The airport is primarily used for the training of fixed wing and rotary wing pilots, it also boasts a helicopter charter company and a light aircraft charter operation along with aircraft maintenance facility. Cumbernauld Aerodrome has a CAA Ordinary Licence (Number P827) that allows flights for the public transport of passengers or for flying instruction as authorised by the licensee (Cormack Aircraft Services Limited).
Today Cumbernauld has two flying schools Leading edge and BAT border air Training and a helicopter school too also PDG Helicopters are based there too who carry out survey work

Car | No need the spots are 10 min walk from the main terminal building on foot. To get here there is a bus from Glasgow the X 37 X 38 that runs every half hour you get of at the old inns roundabout opposite the Gas station then its a 10 min walk up the hill by the industrial estate the airport can be seen on your left hand side | |||

Spot #2 – The crash gate |

WHERE | Go out the terminal turn left on the main road then one minute walk there it is on your left hand side beyond the hangars. |
WHAT | 26 line up shots landings also there is a helicopter school here too you can get parked up helicopter shots there is the visitor apron here too anything non based parks here too. |
TIME | From early morning until 1630 as the airport close. |
MISC. | There is nothing here so take what you need. |

WHERE | Go out the terminal turn right on the main road then walk up by the trees until you reach a gate on your right hand side follow through the field there is a track you will see the apron below walk downhill to the apron beware after heavy rain this spot gets boggy so boots are advised for here or strong foot-ware. |
WHAT | 08 take off shots 26 08 vacating shots and sometimes you get helicopters hovering close up to the fence |
