Fuaʻamotu International Airport (TBU/NFTF) is the main airport of Tonga, but due to its remoteness, it only sees a dozen flights each day. Air New Zealand and Fiji Airways operate almost every day while Qantas sends a 737 to Tonga once per week. Lulutai Airlines is the only domestic operator with flights to only three other islands. However, they are the last operator of the Harbin Y12 in passenger service left worlwide. Lulutai posts their next day’s schedule on their Facebook page every evening. Several general aviation aircraft and military aircraft can be spotted on a regular basis during fuel stops. All airports in Tonga only operate Monday to Saturday and are closed on Sundays.
