Nairobi Wilson Airport – Spotting Guide
January 29, 2026Bonaire Flamingo Intl. Airport – Spotting Guide
Bonaire’s “Flamingo Intl. Airport” (BON/TNCB) is the gateway to the island of Bonaire, one of the three ABC islands Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao. The airport is located at the western coast of the island just 2km south of the capital Kralendijk. The airfield was opened in 1945 as replacement for an older, smaller airfield a bit north by the US troops. Over time, the airfield was extended and modernized step by step, allowing about 500.000 passengers to be handled yearly. While most movements are local islandhoppers, there are also intl. flights to the US, Canada and also the Netherlands.

| Runway Usage | |
| General Info | 10 movements are the most common ones here. |
| Spot #1 – Hills – 10 Arrivals + Line-Ups | |
|---|---|
| WHERE | Just a bit southwest of the airport territory, there are some dirt mounds which you can climb in order to elevate a bit. Turn off EEG Boulevard, drive up to the mounds and climb them: thereby you can see both, arrivals and ground movements. |
| WHAT | From the southwestern ones you can only spot 10 arrivals while the northeastern ones also allow views onto 10 line-ups plus turnoffs after 28 arrivals. |
| TIME | From later morning/noon till sunset. |
| MISC. | Nothing around here. Sometimes, local residents drop off some sharp stones here. Be careful, not to harm your tires. |
| FOCAL LENGTH | 50-250mm |
While line-ups/turnoffs look like THIS, arrivals look like this:
| Spot #2 – EEG Boulevard – 10 Line-Ups | |
|---|---|
| WHERE | This spot can be found along EEG Boulevard at the fence directly. There is a sort of gate where you can stop your car and shoot through/over the fence. |
| WHAT | From here you can see aircraft turning onto runway 10 prior departure or turning off after 28 arrival. |
| TIME | In the afternoon hours till sunset. |
| MISC. | You have to shoot through the mesh or over the fence here. |
| FOCAL LENGTH | Should be 50-200mm |
We cannot provide any examples, the view looks like THIS however.
| Spot #3 – Smoking area – Apron | |
|---|---|
| WHERE | After the security check, you will find a smoking area facing south from where you can obey the aviation movements through some glass walls. |
| WHAT | Views onto the apron in front. |
| TIME | Best on summer mornings or evenings. |
| MISC. | There are some glass walls here where you have to shoot through. Toilets and food can be found inside the terminal here. |
| FOCAL LENGTH | 24-200mm |
