The new airport, also named Chinggis Khaan International Airport, is the biggest airport in Mongolia and opened on 4 July 2021. In 2024, more than 2 Mio passengeres used the airport which is a hub vor MIAT Mongolian Airlines.

| Terminal | There is one terminal handling all flights. |
| Runway | 11/29: 3.600m 11,811 ft |
| Security | No problems reported whilst there. |
| WHERE | Pretty easy to find as the location is along the access road to/from the terminal. Just exit the terminal and walk on the side of the road either to the left or right. The western part is a better choice as the view is less obstructed than the eastern side. |
| WHAT | All movements can be seen, especially the ramp and taxiway. The runway is in the distance. |
| TIME | Not really a good spot as you will face the sun for almost the whole day. |
| MISC. | Don`t be afraid as its a common place for locals to watch the traffic. |
| FOCAL LENGTH | Diverse possibilities so 100-400mm recommend |
