Cape Town’s Waterfront Heliport (FADW) is located at the Victoria & Albert (V&A) Waterfront at Sea Point. It serves for touristic scenic flights (most of them 10-60 minutes) above the city and the Cape Peninsula. Thereby, you will be able to see busy movements of various operators and also helicopter types. Normally, firefighting helicopters are not based/visible here.
April 2026: after some extention of the heliport lately, there are now constrcution works south and west of the heliport for a new building. Be aware of possible changes of the situation.

| Security | Spotting is no issue normally, the authorities tolerate us. However, be aware with your expensive gear here. |
| Single spot: Eastern Pier – All movements | |

| WHERE | This spot is located west of the heliport on the Eastern Pier walkway just next to the hangars and parking area. You can simply park your car in front here or at the V&A mall a few blocks away and walk back here. Then position yourself on the pier depending on your favourite angle. |
| WHAT | From here you can see all movements (arrivals and departures) at the heliport in theory, however depending on their routes in and out some helicopters may not be nicely spotable. |
| TIME | From early afternon till sunset all year around basically. |
| MISC. | Nothing needed. In the nearby V&A mall you will also find shops and restaurants. However, keep a low profile with your expensive gear here! The sight is through a gap between a few hangars here, be aware of some tricky shooting thereby. |
